Community Participation
Volunteer Service – In most cases federal and state support for local programs require that at least 20% of program costs come from volunteer assistance and the contribution of goods and services from area businesses.
Volunteer services by Head Start and Early Head Start parents, community residents, and citizens interested in helping others, play a significant role in carrying out the department’s mission. A wide range of volunteer positions are available, including teaching, clerical work, assisting in Head Start, Early Head Start, Community Service Centers, and serving on boards and committees. To participate in “People Helping People to Help Themselves” call 357-5550.
Your Donations
Federal and state funding continues to shrink, but our expenses continue to increase. Your donations are used to supplement the many programs LCAA offers and to provide scholarships to former Head Start students who plan to enroll in college or vocational training school. You can help Lake County families achieve the dream of self sufficiency by donating today. We accept donations in any amount, large or small.
